I have arranged for a surprise day trip to Paris for our 25th wedding anniversary on the last Thursday in July, and am looking for suggestions for lunch. There will be my wife and two late-teenage daughters, one of which doesn't eat meat (fish not a problem, preferably filleted though).
I am obviously looking for somewhere a bit special (location, view etc) somewhere in the main tourist centre of Paris. We are only flying in for the day, and the rest of the family have not been before, so we will do the usual tourist haunts. Budget is, say, 50 euro max pp including wine. I'm not looking for some gastronomic extravagance, just somewhere with good food where we can spend a couple of hours. No problem with taking pot luck on a set lunch menu, however having the vegetarian daughter causes a problem.
As we will be doing the touristy bit, we won't want somewhere we have to dress up for. Probably smart casuals (maybe trainers for the girls, and smart jeans). My french is very poor (schoolboy standard 30 years ago), so somewhere which will tolerate dumb english visitors would be preferred.
Any suggestions gratefully considered.
