We're planning an anniversary dinner on an upcoming trip to Chicago. We moved from Chicago to San Francisco four years ago. We've narrowed the choices down to: Topolobambo, Blackbird, MK and Everest (we thought about Alinea, but our friends--who are joining us-- weren't interested). Much of what we know about Chicago restaurants is "old news" and I'm sure that there have been many changes. We've been to Frontera, but never to Topolobambo. We've been to MK a couple of times 4-5 years ago and thought it was good but not great. We went to a private dinner party at Blackbird five years ago that was excellent (but it wasn't in the regular dining room which looked like it could be crowded and noisy). Went to Everest about ten years ago and didn't think it lived up to the hype. Can anyone bring us up to date on a good choice?
