Annie's in Stony Point -- Onion Rings Report

Dave Feldman | Oct 22, 2000 11:36 PM

Although the putative purposes of the trip were to go to a farmer's market and pick up a pumpkin, and see the foliage on a beautiful Sunday, MY real agenda was to visit Annie's in Stony Point, and try out those onion rings that won Jim's heart.

All I can say is that I was mildly disappointed in the onion rings (they were fine, but in no way transcendent to these taste buds -- I much prefer the ones at Home or Waterfront Ale House, although they aren't always available at WAH).

But Annie's DID win my heart. We ate outdoors at the shack, and even though Annie's is right off the main drag, it had the feel of a road house in the midwest.

The What I liked more than the onion rings was the homemade sausage used in the sausage, onions, and peppers sub. And the friendliness of the service and the haimishness of the setting. A great find.
