Ann Arbor/Dearborn/Detroit-style middle eastern?

I've recently moved here from Michigan and I've noticed a difference in the style of middle eastern food here. For instance, the delicious Lebanese food at the Reef Cafe is nothing like the delicous Lebanese food found in Michigan.

I love the restaurants here, I love the food options, and I am up for trying new things... but sometimes a person just needs some comfort food. And for me, that's middle eastern food the way I remember it. That means a lighter hummus almost the consistency of pancake batter, garlicky and delicious... substantial vegetarian cabbage and grape leaf rolls... mjadara that is not made with rice... burgl made with smeed, tomatoes, peppers, and spices... and a menu that extends far beyond sandwiches.

So - my question is, are there any middle eastern restaurants that would taste familiar to a Michigan transplant? Bonus for a place that serves middle eastern-style samosas, although I think that might be a Michigan anomaly.
