I touched down in Berkeley this afternoon and hung out at Angels Fall Cafe in Walnut Square. I took advantage of the free wireless access to get some work done. A small interior with only 4 two-tops, but there also seating outside and the signal reaches there too.
My late lunch was a naked tuna salad which was good quality albacore (straight, no mayo) piled on a mushy tomato (could have done without that) on a bed of excellent salad greens with canned mandarin orange segments, garlic croutons, artichoke hearts, and marinated pole beans. A satisfying meal for $4.95 and a step above the offerings at other wifi nodes. I was also treated to a free mini-cone of Lapperts ice cream.
The cafe has been open for 7 months. It's a pleasant stopping off point in the gourmet ghetto.
