In a few months, the 2003 National Checker Championships are going to be held in the town of Honea Path, South Carolina.
The players are going be lodging in a hotel in Anderson, South Carolina and will be catching shuttle busses to the checker playing facility in Honea Path.
I am not sure if I will be attending or not -- as I was hoping that this tournament would be held in a city or town with a better selection of restaurants.
In any event, I would like to advise those players who will be attending as to the best restaurants in this area.
Therefore -- let me ask those who may be familiar with the area. If you had to stay in the Anderson -- Honea Path, SC area for an entire week, where would you be inclined to eat out?
Is there anyplace in Honea Path that is worth going to -- even if it is nothing more than for a burger or a barbecue sandwich?
Is there a fairly reliable "good" restaurant in Anderson, SC -- with good bar service and with competent bar staff who knows how to prepare a proper martini?
I realize this area is far off the beaten path from the restaurant capital of South Carolina -- but any information and leads on this particular area of the state would be deeply appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
