Andersen Bakery "English" Bread Recipe Request [Moved from SF Bay Area board]

My Japanese American wife is yearning for a recipe that approximates the "English" bread sold in Andersen Bakeries in and around The Bay area. The white bread is a bit like a cross between a pain de mie and a brioche loaf - flaky and buttery and toasts amazingly. It is impossible to find here in London and we have been unable to source either a supplier or even a recipe. Can anyone help? Please?
