If you have to ask where it is, well, so does everyone else--about 3 miles north of Pine Plains, NY, an isolated, beautiful stretch of country.
Opened as The Farmer's Wife in the old general store about a month ago, they are doing the most amazing homemade everything--focaccia, Tuscan bread, duck confit, game sausage, special lunches every day, great soups, good prices. This in a place where all you could get a few weeks back were Cheez Doodles, Wonderbread, and burnt coffee.
Really, a charming place and highly recommended for lunch or takeout dinner on the way to the Berkshires, Hudson, or wherever.
Disclosure: the first time I went there, they gave me a hot-from-the-oven rosemary-garlic focaccia for free. Good will aplenty.
