Went here for the first time after seeing Gospel at Colonus at the Apollo. We had barbecued ribs, waffle, collard greens, blackeyed peas, and mac and cheese, and the cornbread that they put on the table. It was all pretty eh. The corbread was kind of dry; the ribs were kind of chewy--though I like the sauce; the mac and cheese wasn't very cheesy; the blackeyed peas weren't very flavorful, though the flavor they did have was a kind of clean blackeyed pea flavor; and the collard greens were kind of weird, though they were at least fairly tasty. I know the fried chicken's a big draw here, so maybe we didn't get the right things (I just wasn't in the mood for fried chicken really). I enjoyed being there (just something pleasant about the atmosphere), though, and would be inclined to go again, for the fried chicken or whatever you all might recommend.
