Amuse Report

Hi all,
Went to dinner last night at Amuse. Aside from being half an hour late from being lost =P and making my friend wait for so long, we had a wonderful time. Let me start off by saying, I think the place is absolutely adorable. Thank you so much for the recommendation SpongeBobSquarePegs. It is so cute. It was a french southern style dining room, with nice accents to make it a really homey like feeling. For drinks, my friend had the chamomile tea and I started off with the ginger vanilla lemonade - which was sort of interesting, I'm not sure I would order it again, I'm not a big ginger fan though, it was a sour drink with a hint of vanilla. The bread basket came with really good pretzel bread so we each helped ourselves to a few pieces of that. We then had 2 appetizers - the mussels, in a nice mayonaisse type sauce, were very tender, fresh, not chewy at all, and then the grilled calamari on top of soba salad, which was light and refreshing. Both were good starts. We then split the Chicken and Brie Sandwich - had sun dried tomatoes, avocado, brie, and tender chicken grilled panini style. It came with these garlic and herb chips that were really crispy, flavorful and just the right crunch, with substance. I loved the chips, and I'm not a huge potato chip fan. Lastly we had the vanilla bean pane cotta which had a nice texture, like a heavy flan. Overall the meal was really nice, good atmosphere, good company and good food. I would definitely go back. I noticed they have the same sandwich and some of the dishes at lunch/brunch for cheaper ;)
