Last Saturday the American Food Journalists handed out their best of the best awards, with the results in the link below.
Living in LA and very used to the Times and its section gave me reason to pause to think that for large circulation papers, its food section, a writer Corie Brown, and its critic S. Irene Virbila, all won top honors.
Jonathan Gold also won a prize for his work in the LA Weekly.
Gee, I always feel the NY Times food section is wonderful, yet no mention at all. Maybe they won it too many times already!
