Alum Cladding in Clad Cookware

mobiledynamics | Dec 28, 201407:32 AM

This post is more for CenturyLife I suppose but for those that pay attention to the details....this is what I have observed on Brand New Pieces Out of the Box

The Alum in All Clad seems to be just a hair below the SS layer. I've noticed this on their tri ply line. However, on a D5 like my TK piece, it's fairly flush.

On my Demeyere Proline (not new ) but I looked at it, it's flush.
On my new Zwillings, it's flush...

What I find slightly interesting on the WS Thermoclad, the Alum is really flush if not proud above the SS clad. Not proud as it way out there but it's as if it has a very very micro micro bullnose that flushes with the SS sidewalls.

Lately, I've just been paying attention to my older pieces that have some DW Aluminum Loss and how new pans look when they are *fresh with no aluminum loss*.
