Hi everyone! I'm new to Chowhound. Thanks in advance for your help!
My girlfriend's grandparents are visiting us for the first time and we want to cook them an elevated pork chop dinner (grandpa's favorite!).
I only have one cast iron skillet and I really love cooking with it. I wanted to do a hard sear on the pork chops before putting them in the oven. Usually I would just sear them in my skillet and then transfer the skillet to the oven. But I need to cook 4 pork chops and I only have one skillet! Sure I have some other oven safe pans, but just 1 cast iron.
What should I do? If I preheat the oven to 375 and stick a baking pan in there, can I transfer each pork chop to the pan as it comes off the skillet? Will that mess anything up? Any other suggestions?
