Alternatives around Six Flags Great Adventure

tired of paying $5 for hot dogs? figured some of you might find this handy given the summer season.

Stopped by the little dingy stretch of restaurants right outside the parking lot exit at Six flags after a day of intense rollercoaster riding. Ended up with some ribs from "Chicken Holiday", and some steak enchiladas and pork chop in cilantro sauce from the next door mexican place (don't remember the name). All were really good, the ribs had a great smoky flavour tender but firm and covered with a sweetish glaze.

As for the Mexican place, clientele was 100% latinos, and selection as far as I could tell were authentic, other than the tacos, burritos and enchiladas, I didn't recognize most of the items. Pork chop was grilled and smothered in a spicy cilantro / tomatillo sauce, served with tortilla, rice and salsa.

Will be hitting these places the next time I'm there no longer have to depend on the overpriced junk at the park.
