Alternatives to Blue Ribbon Bakery

I'm looking for a fun, hip place with good food and service for a group of 14, and BRB, my first choice, can't accommodate us, as their larger private room fits no more than 12. So where to go? Here are the few places I've come up with. I could use some more suggestions, and your opinions on all but Lupa and Compass, as they're the only two I've been to.

*Lupa (probably not available at the time I want it)
*Asia de Cuba (we'd be at the communal table with others, so that's the drawback)
*Le Zinc (too loud? I don't know, you tell me.)
*Wyanoka (does it still exist? I tried calling the number unsuccessfully)
*Compass (probably won't have the fun factor I'm after, though we could get a private room there, which is a plus)
*Jane (might work, but is the food particularly good?)
*Otto

Thanks, Chowhounds!
