Melanie asked about the monthly alphabetical dinner crawl I've been doing with some friends. In the last quarter of last year things started to get busy, so Fina Estampa was the last place we had visited in 2002 (in September).
With the start of the new year we got back into gear and made trips to Grasshopper and Helmand. We had smaller groups for
these two, about 6 people, which is a nice manegable size.
Helmand was a nice surprise. I'm trying to mix up the styles of
cuisine, so being able to go to a great Afghani restaurant for H
was perfect. Limster posted such a great report from last September, that I don't need to go into details, but the kaddo was superb and the lamb was a definite standout (superior to that at Meykadeh, which was a little too gamey for my taste).
Next on our list will be Isa, I think, since none of us have been there yet, and then...Jai Yun, which I can't wait to go back to.
As always, suggestions and recs for your favorite places are always appreciated!
