Alma Semillera Tortillas de Maiz Azul (blue corn tortillas)

Melanie Wong | Jul 31, 201802:03 AM

Picked up a pack of Tortillas de Maiz Azul from Alma Semillera's booth at the Saturday morning Healdsburg farmers market. The ingredients are simply water, organic corn masa harina and lime. They're great. They return to a soft suppleness when reheated in a dry pan. They stay flexible and don't break apart unlike another brand that I tried. The pack has ten small tortillas and weighs ten ounces, $6. The packaging is resealable and they need to be refrigerated, as they have no preservatives.

I'm looking forward to trying the other products from this company. They can be purchased at farmers markets, through Good Eggs, and at retailers listed on its website.
