Wandered into Alma de Cuba on Saturday night, and managed to get a table. Were knocked out by the Cuban music--apparently they have live music every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, according to what we were told. Recognized one song from Buena Vista Social Club, and the rest were of that ilk.
But it wasn't just the music--the food was wonderful. I had the roast suckling pig, with mojo, and my wife had the mariscos in a light, flavorful green salsa. We also ordered green plantains, which were delicious and remarkably un-greasy--almost as if they'd been baked.
The atmosphere was nice, noisy but not too noisy, our waiter was very helpful and pleasant. All in all, a great find, we thought.
