I have heard so much about this restaurant, with people either absolutely loving it, or absolutely hating it, citing prices that have gone up, and food quality that has gone down.
I'm living in Trieste with my girlfriend for about seven weeks. We're traveling on the week-ends, and while we have a few days here and there to splurge, we're trying to eat well, and keep it near 100 Euros for the two of us (which obviously we will be going over at alle Testiere).
So here's my question: To anyone who has been to alle Testiere lately (last two or so years), is it worth being one of our splurges, or are we better off saving that extra money for the restaurants in the Langhe during our trip to Alba in a few weeks, and just hitting up some bacari for cicheti? (I just want to eat local, and eat well. Dining formality is not at all required)
I made reservations (called on Thursday, got them for Saturday evening, no problem), but I am seriously considering canceling with all of the negative reviews (which tend to be more recent) I've been reading about the restaurant.
Any feedback is appreciated!
