Saw it driving by and stopped for Saturday brunch.
They've done a very nice job remodeling the old Acapulco restaurant on Glendale Blvd. They've opened it up and put large windows in the front. It's owned by the Barbrix people.
Coffee is strong, tasted like Illy, which makes sense as there's an Italian theme with numerous Italian dishes on the menu including pasta, pizza, etc.
Croque Signora was a hit, served open faced as a croque madame, with porchetta instead of ham. It also had a sweet red onion jam, which added a lot to the dish and made it much more interesting. And the porchetta was the right meat as ham would have been too sweet with the sweet onion jam. I substituted fruit for the salad, and I'm glad I did as I got a small dish of fresh strawberry, raspberry, blackberry and mango topped with fresh whipped cream and a mint leaf. Very refreshing and a nice complement to the rather rich sandwich.
Breakfast spaghetti was savory including pancetta, Parmesan and kale, topped with a poached egg. Extra Parmesan was offered upon serving it, which was accepted without hesitation. It's a smallish dish, but deceiving in how filling it is.
Service was good, and it wasn't too crowded for brunch. We'll be back.
