Albany - Zi Chuan Yuan & House of Bread

rworange | Sep 3, 2005 01:34 PM

A new Chinese restaurant opened on San Pablo across from BevMo. Has anyone tried it?

Although it says Hong Kong, Szechuen and Hunan it seems geared to the sweet and sour pork / broccoli beef crowd.

I mention it for three reasons;
- There is free delivery with a $20 minimum order
- There is a sign in the window saying prices are 20% off as an opening special
- There is a Health Food section

The health food section is mainly steamed veggies with a choice of scallops, chicken, prawns or tofu. One of five sauces can be selected: brown, garlic, Hunan, white or black bean. There is brown rice in addtion to white.

Green salad and snapple is available.

A few other different items - the tofu is house made according to the menu. The only Hong Kong things I saw were Singapore style noodles and Hong Kong style crispy noodles.

Next door a House of Bread will be opening (one store away from Nizza La Bella).

HOB is a chain, so any discussion about it should be on the general board. Just a FYI.
