Seems my instincts in August were correct, the dreaded yellow 'change of ownership' sign was in the window today.
According to the current owner, the new owners will keep things as is for a while and slowly introduce new dishes.
Rather than not biding their time, it seems there is extra loving going into these last weeks by the current owners. That may be what I've been picking up on and so impressed with this month.
So, there are 10 more days to take advantage of the excellent values ... and, if the new owners keep the prices in the beginning, a good way to scope out the change.
My opinion is that currently Albany Bistro excells in comfort food. For the $4.99 lunch today I had the meat loaf - two thick slices with mashed potatoes and red sauce pausta. Wong does a great job with gravy, very light. The excellent, yeasty, crusty bread was hot from the oven. Total lunch including tax $11 with a glass of wine.
Although they won't read this ... Linda & King ... thanks for the delicous meals and ciao
