Alan Wong's -- Chef's Counter

The evening began with the couple next to us asking if we would finish their bottle of wine -- is that a good sign or what?!

I read that the five-course is plenty when you sit at the counter because the cooks will throw you some bones. We did the seven-course w/ wine but I think the five+ bones would suffice.

The service was good, but when sitting at the counter it didn't seem as important and I ended up not paying attention to it as we were usually chatting with the different chefs.

The entire night is a blur, lost in a haze of too much food and wine so I don't recall any of the specifics. This was my fourth trip to AW's and the only repeat dishes I had were the coconut ice cream and chocolate bars for dessert. I was hoping for the steamed truffle-shrimp-flan, but alas...

In sum I thought that sitting at the counter (my first time doing so) was a lot of fun and the food was absolutely exceptional. Highly, highly recommended.
