Alameda

"How did you get on this Island" I was asked. I guess my expression gave me away, "You don't know you are on an island?"

This being said, since I had apparently made a serious error trying to find a shortcut from Oakland to the city (apparently you need to cross the bridge, no matter what) I asked what there was to eat around this area.

"Nothing," said the guy in the bar I had entered.
Ok, shows me for asking a barfly about food. But since Alameda isnt so far from Berkeley where I squat, looking in envy as my real home across the bay, I figured I would ask about food in Alameda. Is there anything worth going there for, if so what where?

Thanks in advance, Chowhounds is a really friendly site for rec'd.
