Al-Watan

We repaired to Al-Watan today for a light lunch. Not to be, we ordered much from the menu because the visuals of platters of sizzling meat and popover high naan being rushed to the table next door forced us to over order - chicken tikka, the best ever; vegetable birani, salad (so so)the most incredible mango lassi - like silk to drink, so fruity; lamb korma (too spicy for me); minced chicken kabob, Haleem (ground lentil and shredded before prepared in a very special way - an Al-Watan specialty and that was REALLY tasty and not too spicy,) garlic naan, aloo Palak (potatoes and spinach, this was over flavored and muddy). Dal of the day which was "small lentils" according to our server. This restaurant is Halal. Nice service.
Very authentic cuisine - very houndish and we got to watch Pakistani soap opera with a commercial of the Pakistani Home Shopping Club.
