I've eaten a meal once here (back in May, not too long after it had opened), and we stopped for gelato (they just started serving gelato in June, IIRC) last week. Their website: http://www.alporticovt.com/
The calzones we had in May were fine, if a little skimpy. Not over priced, and the flavor was good. They were just narrower than I'm used to getting. The service is ok. You place your order at the counter then go sit down. This is a perfectly reasonable place to go in Montpelier. It's basically a pizzeria, though I've not tried any of their other dishes yet. The owners are Italian (if that makes a difference to anyone). They're friendly enough.
The gelato was delicious, but at $3 for a single scoop into a regular sugar cone (I didn't spring for the waffle cone) it was a little pricey (well, compared to what you get at Dairy Creme for a "small" creemee for $2, but that's not really a fair comparison, they are two very different products). I had coconut and my husband had summer berries. It was rich and creamy and lovely and I thoroughly enjoyed mine, but I doubt I'll be stopping with my husband any time soon because he was choked over the price. :) He's also the sort who prefers Hershey's bars to anything that comes out of an artisinal chocolate maker, so I'll save my pennies and go back later on my own.
All in all, this will be added to the list of places to eat in Central Vermont that I send a link to visitors I run across. :)
