Al & Bea's Bean & Cheese Burrito Recipe?

TommyG2013 | Nov 26, 201801:00 PM

Hi all, I've been trying to recreate the Bean & Cheese burrito recipe from Al & Bea's in Los Angeles (considered by a number of editors as one of the best around).

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions? I don't live in LA so only can go on memory and stuff I've found on the internet.

I know they mention a 16 hour long refried bean recipe, and that they use lard in it. Beyond that I'm not even sure what kind of beans they use.

I know they use grilled flour tortillas.

Most of the writers indicate they use a shredded yellow cheddar cheese.

I've seen a few recipes for their green chile sauce, but don't know how they compare to the real thing:

Any thoughts?
