went to dinner at agra tandoor (formerly mughal raj).recognized our waiter from the former restaurant.he reports one of the partners is the same but i wasn't sure if he was referring to himself or not.the other partner went on to open red hook curry house.the restaurant has been remodeled.layout is the same but some nice improvements:the tacky booths have been replaced with new booths. new furniture. the colors are vibrant jewel tones. ruby red fabric on the walls. the old tile ceiling has been covered with deep green fabric.new red carpeting. it feels like dining in an exotic tent. we had chicken korma and gosht (lamb) vindaloo. both were excellent. also garlic nan. everything was superior to what mughal raj offered. i would compare it favorably with red hook curry house. for us this restaurant is closer. strictly byob for now. they said they will have beer and wine eventually. they were doing a pretty good business. couple at next table was indian and another couple was coming in as we were leaving (an encouraging sign). this is a welcome addition to area restaurants.
