A nice new food shop has opened up at the corner of tremont and washington in oak square,a neighborhood bereft of good eating establishments. Agora Gourmet sells imported items such dry pasta, and jams, greek oregano still on the stems, the usual array of fetas and olives and good breads. They also have a few prepared items such as an excellent soup of the day such as chicken with the aforementioned oregano and noodles and stuffed grape leaves (not as good as Sevan). The woman who owns the shop is very nice and quite earnest in trying to raise the local food standard and I am quite hopeful for this neighborhood place. Dessie (sp?) apparently serves very good coffee in the mornings but i leave before she is open. She also told me that she is thinking of adding one hot dish a day but I hasn't started this yet. If you're in the neighborhood, please try to support this fledgling enterprise and report back if there are other things one should try.
