Aged rums

Jason Perlow | Feb 22, 2001 12:59 PM

After a week in Jamaica and tasting many of their fine rums, I brought back 4 bottles of perhaps their finest aged rum, the the 21 year old Appleton Estate ($65 per in Jamaica) I chickened out on buying a bottle of their 250th anniversary rum ($325 in jamaica) however.

I happen to think these estate-bottled aged rums can be as enjoyable as having a fine cognac or whiskey (especially with a nice cohiba!) -- its a pity that they don't have as wide a market in the states as they do elsewhere.

Anyone know of any others worth mentioning?
