agar agar has taken over Japan - any chowhounds out there on board yet?

zero calories - easy to cook with - and I have been losing weight since I have started eating it.

It is a type of seaweed (tengusa or ogonori) and has not flavor or taste, so that you can create it into whatever you want.

I have been making mattcha kanten, and then topping it with black sugar syrup.

yummy..... and guilt free!
