I'm looking for an afternoon tea for my mom's upcoming b'day that's most similar in style and quality as the Langham, Pasadena.
What we like about it: the relaxed, but polished service. The comfort of the room. The endless pot of tea. I find the sandwiches, scones, and cream to be adequate. It's the overall experience which keeps me returning.
Last year, I took her to the London - and while the tea service was fine - it was not as enjoyable to us as our Langham experiences (service was a bit lacking and the room, while beautiful in it's own right, it felt cold and a bit stiff vs. relaxing).
I looking for a relaxing and warm/inviting type of experience.
We've also been to: The Peninsula, Millennium Biltmore (downtown), Hotel Bel Air, Huntington Library, and Scarlet Tea Room. Of those - I'd say the Peninsula was the closest to the Langham.
Is there anything else I'm missing? We haven't gone to: SLS, Rose Tree Cottage, or Montage.... and am open to all ideas and suggestions.
Thanks in advance!
Edit to add: I would have taken her to The Langham - but they are all booked for a private party.
