Afternoon eats? Maybe tea?

Fida | Feb 17, 2012 03:17 PM

I'm meeting someone probably late afternoon, trying to figuring out places to suggest.

I love afternoon tea (the British sort, with food), but I hesitate because they're mostly so expensive. For instance, I'd love to go to Lady Mendl (never been) but it's $35 a pop, which means I'd be sticking my host with a tab in the vicinity of $90. I'd had Anglers and Writers in the back of my mind for a long time but discovered that it's closed.

Maybe dim sum would be an option, but I don't know if we'd have time to go so far south.

Suggestions? The Village would be good, but anything below 96th might be feasible.
