Afgan Kebab in JH

Last night's leftovers reminded me to post about some excellent veggies we had on Sunday, on our second visit to this place. The stewed pumpkin and the spinach were both great, though somewhat similar in preparation, spicy and not oily. I had the last of the spinach last night, it remained delicious.

A notch lower were our main courses - spicy cod kebabs and spicy grilled half chicken. The fish was darned good, and least the few bites I had of it - I know it will sound bad to say the fish was chewy, but I mean it as a positive - it was chewy in a good, solid way, like lobster is chewy. Meaty, not wimpy. And spicy, like the name says. The chicken I found disappointing - the dark meat was kind of dry for my taste - although my girlfriend enjoyed the leftover white meat last night. To each her own.

I have no basis to judge where this place ranks as Afghan places go (I'm no maven,) but we enjoyed the food, the interior is pleasant and the service efficient. It's great be in a neighborhood with places like this. (And yes Jim, we are planning to go to the Tibetan place soon.)
