I need some advice about tipping a caterer for a wedding reception.
It was a small event (around 30 people), and we paid around 2300$ to the caterer. I know it's more than usual, but the quality of the food was worth it. The chef is the owner of the business, and we also had two waitresses. There was no additional gratuity charge in the bill.
I tried searching online, but found conflicting answers. On one hand, paying 15%-20% like some place suggest, seem like a lot of money for such a small event. On the other and, the food was great and the service was great, and we don't want to look unappreciative.
How much should we tip?
