I need some advice about hand-held mixers.
(I am certainly one of those who lust after a Kitchen-Aid mixer.... I stand in front of those 6-quart mixers for a long time whenever I visit a kitchen shop, and I pretend what it would be like to have one of my own. Can't justify purchasing one unless I start saving in a piggy bank and settle into a place with a spacy kitchen.)
In any case, I've been using a regular ol' hand-held mixer but it pooped out on me last month when I tried to whip up some cream cheese that wasn't soft enough. (Whoops.) The acrid smoke coming out of the engine was pretty traumatic.
Anyway, I'm ready to buy a replacement, and I was wondering if there was a difference between those mixers with only 1 attachment, versus a mixer with 2 attachments.
Also, what about electric cords vs cordless mixers? The cordless mixers with the rechargeable batteries, do they have a long shelf life as the ones with electric cords?
