We (a family of 2 adults, 2 very adventurous teens) will be in San Francisco mid February. We'll be staying with friends in Mill Valley for a few days then around Union Square for the remainder of trip. Being NY'ers we do lots of walking and enjoy a variety of cuisines and flavors. We are looking for true SF experience not stuffy restaurants. Price isn't an issue but why spend gobs of money when truly incredible tacos can be found for a few $ at an awesome street truck. We do like to relax with wine or a great IPA over dinner, but don't want a 3 hour meal.
I'm a big Alice Waters fan and will be trying to get a reservation at the Chez Panisse Cafe just to get the experience. but other than that we are wide open.
Also considering a track associated with Anthony Bourdain's itinerary (sans the drinking and debauchery).
