Adriana in Surfside

We stopped in Surfside for lunch today and decided to try Adriana at 9477 Harding Ave., 305.867.1220. It is a new Peruvian. Small but nicely decorated dining room with a high ceiling and clerestory windows. We shared two apps and a salad. Tequenos which are "wontons" filled with cheese, "tuna cebiche", and an artichoke salad. The ceviche was one of the best I have ever had. And they bake their own rolls and they are worth a visit to the restaurant by themselves. Other restaurants should take note. We mostly get generic bread in this town. The plentiful tuna ceviche had delicious onions and sliced zucchini also and the presentation was beautiful. Artichokes, hearts of palm and Peruvian corn were fresh and plentiful in the salad. Mustard dressing was not good. Balsalmic vinigrette would have been better. Service was pleasant but it was not that busy. Mediocre wine list with a few interesting South American selections. Desserts sounded wonderful but we were stuffed. Chowhounds give it a try. Far superior to Food Gang which is directly across the street. Never had a parking problem in Surfside either.
