How to Adjust Brownie Recipe?

Reddyrat | Jun 25, 2006 01:23 PM

I made a wonderful, incredibly rich brownie recipe a few years ago. I'd love to make it again. The recipe has you pour half the batter in a 13x9 pan and then place 24 York Pepperpint patties over the batter and then cover with the rest of the batter.
The problem is that I'm not a big fan of York Peppermint patties. Is there some other candy that I could substitute? I'd thought about just using small chocolate bars, but I am concerned that it would melt too much and negatively affect the brownies. What candy would you suggest?

Here's the ingredients:
24 small Peppermint patties
1.5 cups butter, melted
3 cups sugar
1 T vanilla
5 egga
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup unsweetened cocoa
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
