For those of you who are not aware, knefe is a Lebanese breakfast sandwich, made from a cheese I do not know the name of that is spread on a home made sesame coated bread bun, and then drizzled with rose water. For many years now I have regularly gone to the one bakery I know that makes it. Since I moved a few years ago, my visits became less frequent and lately my cognisent recognition has been telling me that it is just not the same as before. For one thing, the bun is different, but most important, the taste that brought me back again and again is gone. So, it is with regret that I tell you that I will not go back again; instead it will be in my memory. If any of you are aware of another bakery that makes this dish, please let me know.
