What do you chowhounds think of it? I went for lunch a few weeks ago and was quite impressed with the good service and the excellent food. So, I decided to invite some friends for dinner which was a big disappointment. Too bad. One of my pet peeves with Brennan's restaurants is the obsequious service when you don't want it and then the disappearing act when you need it. For example, each time I got up from the table, some waiter appears out of nowhere to pull out the chair and re-fold the napkin, ruin my perfectly lemoned iced tea with re-fills every minute; and just give me that creepy feeling that someone is hovering over the table. Of course, when it comes time for dessert or coffee or the check, no one even approaches the table. And, it is somehow charming for the Emeril's staff to serve every plate at once but here it was annoying. I felt this "and a one, a two, and voila, here are you entrees". So I am being picky. My duck crepes were excellent and filled with flavor. Skip the cookies and milk dessert and instead sample the lemon crepes which are fabulous.
I am curious as to other readers' experiences. What do you all think?
