Adding wood/charcoal when using rotisserie on Weber kettle - Help?

pam | Sep 5, 2003 08:19 PM

I am going to do my inaugural run using my new rotisserie attachment for my Weber kettle - from reading recipes/tips on this board, it seems I need to plan on indirect, slow fire for a number of hours to cook a Turkey. My problem is that my grill is a single piece, with no hinge or large opening to add coals after the Rotisserie is in place. So do I just start with a gazillion lumps of charcoal, or is there some trick that defies the laws of physics that others use to add charcoal after an hour or so? guidance is much appreciated.
