A few weeks ago I was chagrined to discover that Acme's dense, chewy, intensely cheesy sourdough cheese roll ("croissant" or whatever they called it) had vanished, to be replaced by a new recipe airier roll with far less character and flavor.
Today on my customary Friday end-around route to work, I was pleased to discover that Acme had brought it back in all its oily, salty glory. It's now called the Sourdough Cheese "Wheel" and sits side by side with its gentrified cousin on the croissant platform.
I was told there had been many complaints (including my weekly whine) including one from a woman who took the time to write an apparently memorable letter to the management. Thanks to her, whoever she may be.
