Acme Corn Rye Redux

Stopped by Acme on San Pablo to check for Corn Rye.
No, they don't make a Corn Rye. They were trying it out for a while, but dropped it. The woman at the counter said that several people had asked about it recently (after Melanie Wong's post) so she was going to mention it to the Acme Production Manager.... (Maybe more to come?)

I really like the dense Semifredi "Deli Rye" that I get at the Colusa Circle location. Acme New York Rye is an old favorite. Trader Joe's wasn't bad until they changed the recipe a couple years ago to make it puffier--it became too soft. A good Corn Rye should be dense.
