Accidental eats at the Zetter Townhouse - Clerkenwell [London]

Just behind the Zetter hotel (home to Bistro Bruno Loubet), the Zetter Townhouse is a beautifully-atmospheric traditional cocktail bar. I'm not a big cocktails man but the list is designed by the team behind 69 Colebrooke Row and my girlfriend seems to think they are among the best in London.

We've been quite often but we ended up eating there for the first time last night through laziness and it comes very nicely recommended as a venue for drinks and nibbles. Grilled octupus ladled with ink, lovely merguez on a bed of curried chickpeas. Halloumi was nice although nothing out of the ordinary and then we had an excellent charcuterie plate with pate.

You go there for the cocktails but if you do I'd recommend some food as well.
