We host a large party each year that had its roots in a "Bar-Stocking Party"...We'll make gobs of great Cajun/Creole food...Please help us stock our new bar.
It seemed a bit crass, at the time, but everyone loves it. Where else can a bunch of Wisconsinites have a crawfish feed?
Over the years, despite our pouring of countless Hurricanes, we have amassed a LARGE stock of white rum....primarily Bacardi.
I am seeking inspiration to use this product. I am a drinker of gin martinis and other classic cocktails (Manhattans, Negronis, Aviations). I am, however, a bit at a loss for similar recipes that are based on white rum. I'm sampling a "Bacardi Martini"....Rum, with dry vermouth and bitters...it's OK, but am seeking your inspired suggestions.
Sweet is OK, but am hoping for a recipe evocative of those concoctions mentioned above.
However, I will take on all comers....as long as the ingredients are relatively common and inexpensive....We're in a recession, dontcha know? Please don't take me down the "Creme de XXXX" path.
Yours frugally and chowishly,
