Hey all, I went to a beer tasting on Saturday and, according to the rep. from Abita (Abita Amber, Purple Haze, Turbodog, made in Covington, Lousiana) they had about a 29% market share in the city of New Orleans, pre-Katrina, and now they're hurting due to the slowness of people moving back in.
I'm not really suggesting that people buy Abita beers 'in lieu of' making whatever sort of donations they might want to make. Just think of it as an additional piece of information to do with what you will when picking out a six-pack. It also looks like they have a very tasty new beer coming out in October and proceeds will benefit charity.
Hope this isn't borderline hype-y, I have no affiliation with Abita, other than enjoying their beers.
