Abe's and Sunset

Had last Thurs. off so was able to get to Abe & Louie's on Boylston St. for lunch which is the only time they offer a cheeseburger. It was definitely worth it. You have the option of blue cheese for the $9.95 which is almost a bargain these days and they didn't skimp on the cheese. Came out a perfect medium on a grilled bun with lettuce, tomato and grilled sliced red onion. They had advertised caramelized onions but they were just quickly grilled, still good. Lots of big steak fries. Ice water came out of a bottle at no extra charge. Bartender was attentive during a very busy lunch time, definitely a good burger.

Went to Sunset Grill in Allston for the first time in ages so my friend could get some spicy wings and an exotic beer. I went with the crabcake appetizer since I never got to eat crabcakes on my Seattle trip. They were surprisingly good. Two cakes that weren't probably quite 3" in diameter but thick and mostly crab. Served on slices of tomato with some lightly dressed greens for $8.95. They also have a crabcake sandwich w/ fries which I stayed away from cuz I've eaten so much lately. A pleasant surprise.
