The Chron's Inside Scoop just reported that A16 is opening in Rockridge next year, replacing Hudsons. Here's the article http://insidescoopsf.sfgate.com/blog/...
As usual, it just focused on A16's plans, but doesn't say anything about why Hudsons is closing. Anyone know?
While Hudson may not have been amazing, it was decent and offered up a nice alternative for that area. It always seemed pretty busy. I feel sad that it's closing only because it's been there for so long (albeit mostly as Garibaldi's and then that Garibaldis/Marzano hybrid).
Still, I am excited about A16 moving in. I think that would be a game changer because even though there's A Cote and Oliveto (and Wood Tavern way on the other end of College Avenue), I still feel that end of College Avenue didn't have that high caliber of restaurants. It was more restaurants like Chu's and I-Squared that were decent but not necessarily buzz-worthy. So with A16, and also James Syahabout's new spot opening in the old Somerset, I feel like Rockridge may finally live up to its name as a destination hot spot.
