So I tried A16 for the 5th time last night and again had huge success with the pasta and wine. This time, the ricotta gnocchi with peas was excellent. I was expecting a sauce but the light gnocchi came in a very tasty broth.
Again we tried the pizza and decided to go with the Treviso and the Verde. To my pleasant surprise, the crust this time was cripy and substantial enough that it did not fold when you held the piece up in mid-air. The verde pizza was amazing. It was with spring onions, luganega sausage, mozzarella, garlic, and chiles. The sweet caramalized onions were a perfect compliment to the sausage. One of the most perfect pizzas I've had.
I'm wondering if the crispy crust is because both the Verde and Treviso pizzas did not have tomato sauce or if it actually reflects a change in A16 crust or if it's because it was on a less busy weeknight (my prior visits were on Friday or Saturday). Either way, the pizzas last night were excellent. I will be back to give the margherita a second chance.
